How To Add an Email Account in Outlook 365

  1. Click File.                                                                                              
  2. Click Add Account.                                                                                                                
  3. From the pop up box, select Manual setup or additional server types (A) and click Next (B).        
  4. Select POP or IMAP (A) and click Next (B).                
  5. Type in the name you want displayed in Outlook (A), enter the email address (B), select IMAP (C), type imap.gmail.com (D), type smtp.gmail.com (E), make sure the entire email address is entered (F), type the password (G), select Remember password (H), and then click More Settings (I).                                                                                                                                                                         
  6. Select the Outgoing Server tab (A) and make sure My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication and Use same settings as my incoming mail server is selected (B).              
  7. Select the Advanced tab and type 993 in the Incoming Server (IMAP) box (A), select SSL from BOTH drop down menus (B and C), type 465 in the Outgoing server (SMTP) only after SSL is selected (D), and click OK (E).                                                                                              
  8. Click Next on the original pop up window.
  9. A new pop up window will test settings. Press Close if no there are no errors. If there are errors, contact the IT department.      

                                               

  10. If you want to set the same account up on your phone’s Outlook app, leave the box checked (A) and click Finish (B). A browser window will pop up with instructions to install on your phone. If not, uncheck the box (A) and click Finish (B).
