Fifth Third Safe Directions

The Fifth Third Smart Safe Solutions have been relocated to the front of the stores – mostly underneath the front counter. There is a button on the touch pad which will allow you to “Verify Note” without the safe accepting that note. This is a great way to check all bills larger than a $20. These bills will return themselves as soon as they’re fed into the validators and do not require anyone to login to the safe. Please use this feature to help remove counterfeit currency. This button is in the image below – found on the home screen of the touchpad.

The image below shows you where the important contact and identifying information for your Fifth Third Smart Safe Solution in the store. The serial number as well as the contact numbers for assistance are on the front of the safe. Please note that if you are having issues with functionality of your safe that you may contact their customer service for support. Most issues can be resolved remotely and if there is a concern regarding a particular user they should be able to resolve that remotely as well. If an escalation of ticket is required through Fifth Third Support, then an IT ticket should be opened with our IT team as well.

This is the login screen that will be present to use the safe.

Please note that whenever you create a new user that there is a PIN assigned to that user, but that the password for that user should NOT be the same numerical code as the PIN.

This is what the logged-in home screen will look like for a “Manager” level user. This will provide the ability to create cash deposits as well as open the vault. You can also access the Admin functions from this page to add new users. Anyone who would only be responsible for making cash deposits and not opening the vault should be registered as a “Cashier” level user. Additionally, no one should use the “Manual Deposit” function. There will be additional changes to the user levels and functionality over time, but this will represent the current structure. Trevor (Senior Director of Finance) can assist by creating users and PINs remotely if someone has a listing of employees that they would like to send me. Trevor can also confirm how many users each safe currently has active.

Whenever you select the “Open Vault” request this is the page that will show. You will select the vault listed (there is only one on our configuration). It will then begin the 9-minute time delay.

This is the screen which will populate once the 9-minute time delay has been activated. Please note that you need to take careful note of the time in which you begin the delay as once it has reached the timer you will have 60 seconds to open it before it resets the process. Note the screens states “Time Delay Active”

This is the screen which will show once the time delay has been reached – note the screen states “Available.” Once you’ve reached this screen you should now be able to open the vault. In the event that you reach this screen and it does not open, please hit the back button at the bottom left of the screen and select the vault again. It should allow you to rotate the handle at that time.

This is an image of what the bill validators and screen look like whenever it is in cash deposit mode. Please use both validators to make deposits.
