Pulse System Crashes on ALL Computers

  1. Is Pulse working on the tower in the office labeled HOST 1?
    1. If no, go to step 2.
    2. If yes, call the IT Emergency HELP line.
  2. Does the tower labeled HOST 1 have the power light lit?
    1. If no, check to make sure the HOST 1’s power cable is inserted firmly into the HOST 1 and into the UPS Battery Backup. Press the power button on HOST 1. If HOST 1 still does not power up, go to step 3.
    2. If yes, go to step 6.
  3. Is the UPS Battery Backup beeping?
    1. If no, go to step 4.
    2. If yes, unplug all of the devices and plug directly into the wall outlet or a power strip, call the IT Emergency HELP line, and then go to step 6.
  4. Is the UPS Battery Backup turned on? Some will have a green light next to the power button and some may have a red light on the power button as well as the display lighting up.
    1. If no, turn it on and go to step 5.
    2. If yes, unplug all of the devices and plug directly into the wall outlet or a power strip, call the IT Emergency HELP line, and then go to step 6.
  5. Determine how HOST 1 crashed and follow the instructions for the cause below:
    1. Power Outage – Go to step 6.
    2. Someone powered off or rebooted HOST 1 – DO NOT DO THIS AGAIN and then go to step 6.
    3. Power plugged got pulled out – Go to step 6.
    4. Random reboot without anyone near HOST 1 – Call the IT Emergency HELP line so that the IT team can open a ticket with Global Care and have overnight tests ran and then go to step 6.
  6. Whenever Pulse crashes or HOST 1 reboots, Pulse requires between 10 and 20 minutes to restart. If after HOST 1 finishes booting up and the Pulse connection screen loads, you’ve waited 20 minutes to try to reconnect, and Pulse still does not connect, call the IT Emergency HELP line from a store phone at HELP (4357) or from a non-store phone at (210) 504-1251.
